I'm Debbie Shepherd, and I've spent over 35 years in the property and finance industry. I started as an estate agent for 4-5 years, then moved into mortgages where I've been ever since. I genuinely love what I do.

Life beyond mortgages
When I'm not advising clients, I'm usually out walking, I love being outdoors and staying active. I read a lot. And I spend time with my family, which is everything to me.
We've got two pets: Dexter, our 10-year-old flat coated retriever (he's the real boss of the house), and Arnie, our 3-year-old cat. My family includes my husband Darren, who runs Darren Talks, a popular mortgage education channel on TikTok. Kai is a content creator and influencer, and Evan is at university studying media and production.
Here's something most people don't know: I used to be an air stewardess. But here's the irony, I'm absolutely terrified of flying! Most people find that hilarious. It was time to move on from that career, and I'm so glad I did. Mortgages are far less stressful than 35,000 feet.
Family First
My family is everything. When I'm not helping clients, I'm spending time with them, walking with Dexter, or reading.
And yes, I used to be an air stewardess. But I'm terrified of flying, ironic, right?
